About
Aunt Mae's Sweet Strawberry Cobbler is a long-time family favorite, and it's too good not to share! The best-kept secret about this dish is that it's super simple to whip up. Five staple ingredients are combined to create a buttery, warm cobbler base. It's baked with summery, fresh strawberries sprinkled on top to ensure you experience sweetness in every bite! Our darling aunt always ate Aunt Mae's Sweet Strawberry Cobbler with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, so that's basically a must every time you indulge yourself!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups white flour
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup salted butter, cubed
- 1 pound strawberries, halved
- vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, optional, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and milk until the batter is smooth and no clumps of dry ingredients remain.
Step 3 -Place the cubes of butter in an 8x8-inch baking dish and bake until the butter has completely melted, for 3-5 minutes.
Step 4 -Pour the batter over the melted butter.
Step 5 -Evenly cover the batter with the strawberries and bake until the top is golden brown, about 45-50 minutes.
Step 6 -Serve immediately and with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
