These show-stopping Candied Kielbasa Bites are making their way to stardom, and they sure are strutting their stuff! These savory kielbasa sausage pieces are swimming in a sea of brown-sugared, tangy, vinegar-infused mustard sauce. These fancy, delicious bites definitely put out a center stage kind of vibe. Ingredients
- 12 ounces kielbasa sausage
- 1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line an 18x26-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3 -Cut the kielbasa into three large sections.
Step 4 -Cut the kielbasa sections in half lengthwise, then cut them into 1/2-inch-long half-moon-shaped pieces.
Step 5 -In a medium saucepan over low heat, add the brown sugar, the Dijon mustard, the apple cider vinegar, and the black pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.
Step 6 -Add the kielbasa pieces to the brown sugar mixture and stir to coat.
Step 7 -Use a slotted spoon to transfer the kielbasa pieces to the prepared baking sheet and reserve the sauce left in the saucepan.
Step 8 -Bake the kielbasa pieces, about 15 minutes.
Step 9 -Carefully lift the parchment paper, funnel the kielbasa pieces back into the saucepan, and stir to coat.
Step 10 -Place a clean piece of parchment paper on the same baking sheet.
Step 11 -Use the slotted spoon to transfer the kielbasa onto the prepared baking sheet and bake, about 15 minutes.
Step 12 -Serve the kielbasa bites with toothpicks.
