Cheese, glorious cheese! We've had that little melody stuck in our heads since the moment we tasted these Gloriously Cheesy Potatoes. We're pretty certain this little cheesy tune is about to get stuck in yours, too! And to be frank, this dish is titled for what it is. It literally contains tender potatoes mixed in and topped with a whole heck of a lot of melty, gooey, stringy cheese. There are actually four different types of beloved cheese in this thing, just for your knowledge. What's not to love?! What a deliciously savory addition the Gloriously Cheesy Potatoes will make to your dinnertime spread!
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
- 3 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/8-inch-thick discs
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 -Lightly grease a 1-quart baking dish.
Step 3 -In a medium bowl, add the garlic, the salt, the pepper, the red pepper flakes, and the heavy cream and whisk to combine.
Step 4 -In a large bowl, add the mild cheddar, the extra sharp cheddar, the Gruyère, and the parmesan and stir to combine.
Step 5 -Add two layers of the potato slices to the prepared baking dish and top with 1/2 of the cheese mixture.
Step 6 -Repeat the layers until all the potatoes and all the cheese mixture have been used.
Step 7 -Pour the heavy cream mixture over the potato mixture.
Step 8 -Bake the cheesy potatoes until the potatoes are fork tender and the top is golden, about 50 minutes-1 hour.
Step 9 -Serve.
