Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons butter, plus more, to taste, for greasing the dish
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 7 cups Apple Jacks cereal

Directions

Step 1 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with the extra butter.

Step 2 -In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 5 tablespoons of the remaining butter.

Step 3 -Add the marshmallows to the melted butter, and cook, while stirring constantly, until melted.

Step 4 -Transfer the melted marshmallows in the saucepan to a wire rack and immediately add the cinnamon and the vanilla extract, while stirring to combine.

Step 5 -Immediately add the Apple Jacks cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until fully combined.

Step 6 -Immediately spread the cereal mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish with a spatula, pressing it down until completely even.

Step 7 -Transfer the cereal mixture to the refrigerator and let it chill until firm, at least 2 hours.

Step 8 -Transfer the cereal mixture from the refrigerator to a flat surface.

Step 9 -With a serrated knife, cut the treats into serving-sized pieces and serve.
