About
Drink as the Georgians do and make a Sweet Tea. While Sweet Tea from restaurants might be too sweet for your liking, making it at home allows you to adjust the sweetness level. It’s the perfect thing to always keep in your fridge for when guests drop by. Freshen it up with lemon slices and/or mint leaves and enjoy that deep, refreshing flavor.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3 family-sized black tea bags or 12 individual tea bags
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ice
- mint leaves, optional
- lemon slices, optional
Directions
Step 1 -Boil 4 cups of water over medium-high heat.
Step 2 -Remove the water from the heat and steep the tea for 5 minutes.
Step 3 -Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
Step 4 -Pour the contents into a large pitcher.
Step 5 -Add 3 more quarts of water to the base. Refrigerate until the tea is cold, about 4 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
Step 6 -Pour the tea over ice and serve with lemon and mint!
